VaVaCars is on a mission to become the most trusted car transaction platform in its markets. Its revolutionary new service takes the hassle out of trading second hand vehicles and allows consumers to sell and dealers to buy with confidence.
Strategically backed by a global group of companies focused on the energy sector, VavaCars is able to leverage this credibility, considerable expertise and infrastructure in the world of energy, to make its move into the used car marketplace. Merging the tech and auto worlds they are building the first of it's kind start-up offering in the emerging markets world.
The business is currently live in two markets, Turkey and Pakistan, and markets three and four are primed for launch in 2021. With the brand continuing to growth rapidly, both geographically and via product expansion, Roland’s hire is to ensure that product underpins and plays a major part in the success of the business moving forward. Working closely with the rest of the C level team on the strategy and direction of the future roadmap, Roland’s ultimate mission is to help VavaCars continue to scale by building them a world-class product function.
Roland joins following a successful three years at Bookatable where he was most recently responsible for ensuring the launch of ‘TheFork’ across Europe and transitioning the Bookatable product and team into the new business following the purchase by Tripadvisor in Dec 2020. Prior to Bookatable, Roland spent six years at the world’s #1 online food delivery company, JustEat, facilitating hyper scale-up and international product growth leading both b2c and b2c strategies and teams.
