TomTom strengthens their technology leadership team with the appointments of Koen Denecker as VP of Platform Engineering, Ferenc Szeli as VP of Search and Brian Coleman as VP Product Management.
Renaissance has been working closely with Eric Bowman, the SVP of Engineering at TomTom and former SVP Engineering at Zalando on a strategic project to scale of his technology leadership team. In addition, we hired TomTom’s VP President of Product Management to drive forward the Automotive strategy. We are delighted that this has resulted in the following three successful hires to date.
Koen Denecker joined TomTom in January as VP of Platform Engineering following a distinguished and highly successful career at Cisco Systems where he progressed from IT Architect through to his final role as VP of Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Services where he was leading an international team of over 350. With a PhD in Computer Science from Ghent University, Koen is a renowned expert in software infrastructure with over 50 international academic and public publications to date.
Ferenc Szeli joined as VP of Search in July from GeoPhy where he was VP of Engineering and was responsible for scaling the technology team and developing the technical vision for the business. Prior to this he was Director of Software Engineering at Booking.com where served at global head of Machine Learning Services and their Experimentation Platform. Ferenc was at Booking.com for just under 7 years and during this time he built and managed international teams of 300+. Ferenc has an MSc in Information Technology from the Budapest University of Technology & Economics.
Brian Coleman has recently started his new role as VP of Product Management following over two years at MotorK as their Chief Strategy Officer where his responsibilities included developing relationships and digital strategies with enterprise clients and identifying M&A opportunities . Prior to this he worked with Google as Industry Head EMEA Top Accounts Automotive following an eight period working in the automotive industry in various positions in marketing and trade at Toyota Motor Europe and Lexus Europe in Brussels. Brian has previous experience as a Consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in Munich. Brian holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Masters in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University, Washington DC, and a BA in Journalism from Syracuse University, NY.
