ScyllaDB appoints Jon Bakke as Chief Revenue Officer

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jon Bakke as Chief Revenue Officer at ScyllaDB

ScyllaDB is a leading NoSQL database provider, providing a monstrously fast and scalable database. It is compatible with Apache Cassandra and Amazon DynamoDB but also offers ScyllaDB Cloud, a fully managed Database as a Service (DBaaS) available on AWS and Google Cloud. The company is supported by an enviable syndicate of investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, Eight Roads Ventures and Magma Venture Partners.

Jon joins from MariaDB Corporation, where he spent the previous six years as CRO, where he led Sales, Sales Engineering, Inside Sales and Customers Success, with customers in over 30 countries. In recent years ScyllaDB has enjoyed exceptional revenue growth and they are looking to Jon to help structure the commercial organisation and instil the necessary processes to drive the company through its next period of hyper growth.

Commenting on working with Renaissance on this key hire, Dor Laor stated “Our experience with Seb and Renaissance was remarkable. Within a short amount of time we received a top notch list of highly qualified CROs, exactly with the experience and pedigree we needed. Seb was supportive throughout the process and helped a lot to navigate and choose the candidate with the best fit when he always had the company's benefit in mind. I highly recommend choosing Seb. I've done several CxO hires and my experience with Seb clearly stands out.”

Sebastian Kayll stated “ScyllaDB was a dream client to work with and the opportunity was extremely well received by the market, ultimately we selected Jon from a very strong pool of candidates. I am in little doubt that Jon will prove to be an exceptional hire and ScyllaDB will go on to do great things.”
