Founded in 2016 by Femi Kuti, Opeyemi Olumekun, and Matthew Mayaki, Reliance Health is on a mission to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable in countries where the dominant path to healthcare is to pay at the point of access. Reliance Health uses technology and data science to build an integrated health system that includes affordable health insurance, telemedicine and a combination of partner and proprietary healthcare facilities. This allows them to offer innovative healthcare solutions that meet the needs of the emerging markets.

Having received early investment from the likes of Partech Partners, Y Combinator and Tencent, Reliance Health have recently raised $40m, led by General Atlantic to help fuel their international expansion. In line with their expansion model, they have made the following hire to their executive leadership team:

Randeep Sidhu – Chief Product Officer

Randeep is an AI leader who builds disruptive technology in healthcare, regulated industries and start-ups, with a focus on consumer apps, AI and digital transformation. Randeep’s most recent role has been Director of Product at Babylon Health and previously was the Head of Product for the NHS Covid 19 app for the Department of Health and Social Care. He has an impressive background in strategy, brand, product and the healthcare industry and also holds several Non Executive Director positions. Randeep has joined to provide stability, vision & product leadership as Reliance Health expand their products & services internationally.

Commenting on this Randeep said “I’m so excited to join Reliance Health and strengthen their mission to make healthcare not just affordable and accessible – but also delightful, putting our customers at the heart of what we do. With over 200k existing users in Nigeria and plans in place to expand across other emerging markets, there is a real opportunity for creating impact at scale. Joining as Chief Product Officer at this important moment means I can support a business built in Nigeria with its global ambitions while building up local skills in every market we enter. It’s an inspiring team to be part of, Femi and Ope have built something very special.”
