Kontakt.io makes key SVP Engineering hire

SAN FRANCISCO

Kontakt.io is a market leading indoor location services business that is going through hyper growth.

Its pioneering Portal Beam product is gaining significant traction across healthcare/ industrial/manufacturing sectors and offers huge scope for growth in international markets. Backed by Heartcore Capital and with a clear roadmap to the $100m revenue milestone, Kontakt were looking to appoint an SVP Engineering to partner with the current leadership team and spearhead the growth in engineering productivity and output.

The requirement was for a senior technology leader with strong commercial awareness and a deep technology grounding in data management, AI/ML and with proven ability to scale multi-site engineering teams.

Shekhar Rajvanshy was hired into the SVP Engineering role after an extensive search for the finest engineering leadership talent covering the US East and West coast. Shekhar stood out due to having successfully scaled engineering for two SaaS/enterprise software businesses resulting in a strong exit for the founders in each case. He also understood the complexities of running a multi-site, international engineering team and creating a culture of excellence around all things product and engineering. Prior to joining Kontakt he led engineering and customer support at Exeros up to and following its acquisition by IBM, staying on to develop Hadoop and Cloud service offerings for IBM before taking on the VP Engineering role at Numerify, an AI-powered analytics engine acquired by Digital.ai.

Shekhar will be based in Kontakt’s office in San Francisco.

Commenting on the appointment, CEO Philipp von Gilsa said: “I am extremely excited to welcome Shekhar to the executive team here at Kontakt.io. His cloud, ML and scale-up experience is unprecedented”.
