In September 2020 Mirakl raised France’s largest ever B2B scale-up round - their Series D valued at $300m led by Permira. This coincided with us completing an intensive search to find a new CMO for this remarkable technology organisation.
Co-headquartered in Paris and Boston and founded in 2012, Mirakl enables businesses across industries and geographies to launch and scale their own B2B and/or B2C marketplaces. Prior to 2020 Mirakl had been achieving significant success, attracting three funding rounds, including a Series C of $70m led by Bain Ventures alongside 83 North, Felix Capital and Elaia. However, the current pandemic has further accelerated the eCommerce segment with marketplaces now a pre-requisite for many businesses to survive.
Joe Sawyer joins from ReliaQuest where he held the position of CMO. However, his eCommerce career started some 20 years earlier as an eCommerce Analyst with Forrester. He has also held marketing leadership roles at SAP and Amwell. In addition Joe gained his MBA from INSEAD and is fluent in French.
